Meadowhall is the eighth largest indoor shopping centre in the UK and asked Aspect to create an engaging and memorable Christmas TV commercial. The commercial needed to resonate with Meadowhall’s key point of difference, which is around the very many great shops all in one place. There really is something for everyone at Meadowhall – the variety and quality of brands all in one place.
Our creative celebrates this. The bold execution is visually arresting and the kind of commercial you want to see again and again. In a studio we staged lots of mini-scenarios depicting people sharing gifts, trying on new clothes, spraying perfume etc. We shot each setup at 4000 frames per second and when replayed it shows the action in a surreal and stunning slow motion. This is a very stylish and memorable treatment which is energetic, captivating and celebratory.
The commercial was broadcast from November 2015 through to January 2016, and the recognisable and creative ‘property’ allowed for all media forms – poster, print, digital, to be easily and fully integrated.
