The NSPCC asked Aspect to make a volunteer recruitment promotional video kit to support volunteer recruitment and help raise awareness of the NSPCC volunteering opportunities. We understood that the main motivator for volunteers was the cause i.e. protecting children and young people.
We wanted to bring children into the heart of the video. We felt having the video child centric and to have children leading the video whilst hearing from the genuine volunteer experiences would prove a powerful mechanic to break the typical barriers for potential volunteers. Hearing the genuine reactions from volunteers helps to evoke positive feelings in potential volunteers and set the expectation that you will be supported.
The film was promoted through a variety of platforms to outreach to potential volunteers, including PR, Platform takeover / Social Media and local outreach. Schools, partnerships and volunteers were encouraged to share the video link where possible.
