1. FIND THE RIGHT BRAND VIDEO STYLE

There is a vast choice of creative approaches when it comes to a brand video production. From cinematic actor led narratives, presenters and narrators to animations and visually bold expressions. The right approach will depend on your budget and setting the right tone and feel for your brand.

2. WORKING WITH ACTORS

If you do opt for live action filming then using actors or models is a great way to humanise the video and allows us to start telling genuine stories. Stories are often the most compelling ways to communicate the intangible aspects of your brand.

3. USING VISUAL METAPHORS IN BRAND FILM

Watch-outs and Considerations when Producing Brand Films

There are some key considerations you’ll be asked to make when you engage with a video production agency. Many of these need to be addressed before the creative process can begin:

  • Do you want to evoke the spirit or ethos of your company, the attitude of your staff or something more abstract like a mood or a feeling you want to associate with your brand?
  • What’s you budget? Are your expectations realistic? If not then there may be alternative ways of achieving the same emotional effect without a hugely expensive production shoot.
  • What kind of music do you want to use? If you have something specific in mind then this could potentially inform the whole creative process. The timing is also important, as typically a 90 second brand film will play out to one track.
  • You should always avoid the temptation to include any information about your products or services in your brand film. The only thing you’re trying to sell is an image of your brand.
  • Are there other brands out there you admire? This doesn’t mean you want to copy what they’ve done but this can be a useful source of inspiration and may help you boil your brand identity down to a single emotion or feeling.
  • Are there any barriers or misconceptions you face? Brand film can allow you to tackle preconceptions about your brand or your industry sector head on by putting your brand’s ethos and corporate responsibility centre stage.
  • Have you got buy in with the production agency on your approach? Clear and effective communication between you the client and us the film production agency is extremely important when it comes to creating brand films. We need to know that you are on board with the broader picture before we begin developing a concept and begin scripting.
